Today has been a day that should be wiped.
It started this morning when Anton Tabuena of BloodyElbow wrote an article stating that Folayang would not fight due to the rigorous schedule in front of him for the remainder of the year. Fights just a month apart, including the biggest one in his life for the OneFC strap, remained. The article went on to state that Folayang was out and Laursen was in against Zoro Moreira of Evolve MMA. A tweet from OneFC CEO Victor Cui rebuffed this switch.
AsianMMA.com contacted several sources to find out what was going on.
First – Zoro and Folayang are STILL green lit for the event. As of now, NOTHING has changed. Laursen is not fighting Folayang, Laursen is not fighting Zoro. Zoro is fighting Folayang.
With that said, there is always the possibility of a change of plans. It is quite understandable that a fighter not want to take three fights separated by only a month a piece. However, the rumors swirling around today about the potential fights have gone to another level and been almost a debacle, to quote a good friend of mine.
AsianMMA.com will bring you ANY changes to the title fight, if they occur.
