And queue the Queen because another Kotani opponent has bitten the dust. Darius Minkevicius had a tall order in front of him and even though he lost via the above pictured Double Wrist Lock, he lasted half a round and actually refused to submit, making the ref step in and stop the match, a gutsy effort for a very outmatched young man. Kotani continues on in the tournament to crown a ZST Lightweight champion.
In other tournament action, Shinichi Taira earned a decision over Kuat Khamitov in a fight that came down to Kuat acquiring a number of yellow cards. Koji Mori blitzed Atsushi Ueda with a quick flurry and followed up with some good old GNP for ze reel nokaut. Hiroyuki Ota had an easy, if disappointing night, getting a bye after Makoto Sasaki failed to make weight. The tournament will continue November 23
In the pivotal bout between Yuichirou Yajima and RYOTA to decide the next challenger for Ryosuke Tanuma’s Flyweight title, Yajima scored revenge on the man who made him submit to an Armbar back at Sengoku – Eleventh Battle and the best kind of revenge at that, revenge by Toe Hold. Now he will be seeking to do the same to Tanuma, who KO’d him a few years ago.
