  • NJPW held their second internationally broadcast iPPV last night and just like the first, it was a smashing success. Kazushi Sakuraba & Katsuyori Shibata once again defeated the team of Togi Makabe & Wataru Inoue when Saku put Inoue in his legendary Double Wrist Lock while Shibata and Makabe brawled in the crowd. The rivalry isn’t over yet though, Shibata will face Makabe one on one at the biggest wrestling event in Japan, the January 4th Tokyo Dome extravaganza, Wrestle Kingdom.
  • A ton happened on the rest of the card as well. To kick off the show, Alex Shelley & KUSHIDA won the IWGP Jr. tag titles from Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov. Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith Jr. defended the IWGP tag belts against TenKoji, the team they won them from. The IWGP Jr.title continues to play hot potato, as Prince Devitt has one again won the belt from Low Ki. Devitt has purposed a triple threat match between himself, Low Ki and Kota Ibushi to find out just who is the Jr. ace of NJPW. And Kazuchika Okada fended off Hirooki Goto’s attempt to take away his heaveyweight title shot at Wrestle Kingdom.
  • In the nights co-mainevent, Shinsuke put his Intercontinental on the line against Karl Anderson and after a thrilling victory, Shinsuke called out Sakuraba for a match and the IQ Wrestler has indeed agreed to face the IC Champ at Wrestle Kingdom! Saku’s first singles match since facing Kendo Kashin at INOKI BOM-BA-YE 2000. In the shows featured match, Hiroshi Tanahashi of course successfully defended  the IWGP Heaveyweight title against Yujiro Takahashi. Yujiro did have a valiant performance but the wrestling gods have decreed, it will be Tanahashi vs Okada for the gold in the WK mainevent.
