DREAM’s NYE event has a rumored broadcast in Japan.

According to various Japanese MMA blogs, the event is set to stream the first portion of the event live on the smaller combat sports station SamuraiTV.  After the free portion airs, it will switch to a live, pay-per-view broadcast on SkyPerfectTV, which makes perfect sense due to the location of the recent press conference.  SkyPerfectTV has been the home to many PrideFC, and DREAM events in the past.

This makes for an interesting mix.  SamuraiTV is not available in HD, whereas SkyPerfectTV’s DREAM broadcasts have always been served up in HD format.  That has been a big issue in bringing smaller events such as Shooto and DEEP to the United States as they do not air in high definition.

As of writing, there are no plans to air the event in the United States, as of yet.  It is still very early, however.
