When Shinya Aoki arrived in MMA, he brought something to the table that had never before been witnessed in an MMA event.  His ability to wrap himself up on an opponent and suffocate them while possibly taking home an arm or a leg, was a spectacle in it’s own.  The consistency at which Aoki has done this is breathtaking.  His abilities get better with each and every match, and at only 29 years of age, his prime is still years off.  That’s a hard one to swallow.

FuelTV did a segment recently entitled “Shinya Aoki:  Submission Impossible”, which highlighted one of  his submissions during Pride.  Had PrideFC not folded, a Gomi X Aoki match could have been very possible as Aoki was quickly staking claim in the lightweight division.
