Mousasi has held titles with Strikeforce and DREAM and has successfully competed amongst the best in K-1.

Gegard Mousasi has a very good idea of what 2013 will bring to him.  Not discounting his fight with Mike Kyle at Strikefroce’s final event on January 12th in Oklahoma City, Mousasi has a good idea what is next.  “If everything goes well, I will be headed to the UFC,” Mousasi told the website this week.

While Mousasi prepares for his bout with Mike Kyle, a fight he has trained for on two previous occasions, the what-if’s as to where a loss to Kyle would land him seem to be little worry to the striker.  Mousasi, who fights at 205, would drop to the middleweight division of 185 and begin his career with the world’s largest promotion in that weight class.  “I am 100 percent positive about my abilities to beat anybody,” Mousasi said. “I don’t doubt myself I just have to have my priorities right. I know I can beat anybody.” he told

Mousasi, as he sees it, already has an opponent in mind for his long overdue arrival in the UFC.  Brazilian Mauricio Shogun Rua, the decorated PrideFC and UFC veteran would be his optimal fight, according to Mousasi, a fight he believes would be a very exciting fight for all onlookers.

As for the official announcement of his arrival with the Zuffa owned promotion, Mousasi proclaimed, “They will announce it.”
