Japanese puroresu legend, Jushin “Thunder” Liger, will make his return stateside on Wrestlemania weekend ,as reported by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer.
Liger will meet Sabu at an Extreme Rising show in Pennsylvania on April 4th, the Thursday before Mania.
Liger and Sabu have never been booked in North America. They have a slight bit of a history in the NJPW as the two have met a handful of times.
For American fans, this will give them the chance once again to see one of the most dynamic professional wrestlers Japan has ever produced. Doing a stint state side nearly 20 years ago, Liger won the WCW lightweight title while feuding with Flyn’ Brian Pillman. After spending the entire 1990′s with what became the world’s best wrestling promotion, Liger returned back to Japan where he continued as he’d never left.
Extreme Rising celebrates their first anniversary on April 4th and brings Liger in to make the show all the more special.
