Former SRC powerhouse Marlon Sandro now has a date.
Sandro meets Magomedrasul “Frodo” Khasbulaev in the semi-finals of the featherweight tournament.
Sandro was hesitant in the tournament’s opening round, lacking the ferocity he once showed within the confines of the white ring in Japan. After going three rounds with his Russian counterpart, Sandro pulled out a majority decision victory, just slipping into the semi-final round.
His opponent, Magomedrasul “Frodo” Khasbulaev, looked marvelous in his opening round bout. As one of many Russian fighters to call Bellator their home, Khasbulaev continued the successful run of Russians within Bellator, submitting Fabricio Guerreiro just a minute into the second round. Khasbulaev spent his time with M-1 Global and ProFC before joining Bellator.
Top three ranked Pat Curran awaits the winner of the featherweight tournament with a title defense likely coming this spring.
